If you are new to any reservoir and need to start blind casting in order to figure out the feeding pattern, it’s probably a good idea to start fishing points. Even if the fish are not stacked up on the points, the likelihood of finding a lone fish is always best on this type of structure. This is especially true during low light periods on nearly all reservoirs. Nearly every freshwater striped bass angler I have talked to thoroughly fishes points no matter what part of the country their reservoir is located.
